As a Veterinary Nurse (VN) you will provide a high standard of customer service and clinical care whilst promoting pet wellbeing and supporting Veterinary Surgeons to deliver preventive services and to treat sick and injured pets of eligible clients.
This Veterinary Nurse post has no weekend working. The shift pattern for this role is an alternating weekly rota of Monday – Friday, 6.30pm – 2am, then one week off. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to see a wide variety of cases as part of a busy out of hours service.
Working as part of a team that supports in theatre, provides inpatient care and carries out consults, admissions and discharges, you will also be involved in dispensing medication, encouraging financial contributions from clients and maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness of the hospital and equipment.
Depending on the needs of the hospital we have Veterinary Nurses working both full and part time hours, with opportunities for career progression at PDSA for the right candidate.
You will be a RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse, will be expected to keep your professional knowledge updated by taking part in continuous professional development and will be committed to the vision and mission of PDSA.

As a Veterinary Surgeon Team Leader, you will be able to demonstrate excellent performance in your current role with a proven track record in customer service, team work, and delivering results.
You will support the Senior Veterinary Surgeon, through leadership of part of the Veterinary Surgeon team, to deliver efficient, professional and caring PetAid services to the local community. In addition you will be expected to deputise for the Senior Veterinary Surgeon during periods of absence.

Typically the role will be approximately 80% clinical and 20% off rota management time.
